3 Ways to Clean Your Hot Tub Filter

Cleaning your hot tub filter is the number one component to keeping your water safe and clean. We cannot stress to you enough how important it is to keep up with replacing and keeping those nasty particles clear from your filter. There are a couple different ways to clean your filter and you will have to decide what is best for you when the time comes.

  1. Simple Rinse -  This method is the easiest and simplest way to clean your filter. You should be rising your filter once every 2 weeks depending on how often you use your hot tub. This only takes a couple of minutes and all you need is a hose or find water pressure. If you are in a hurry and you are having people over and your hot tub is cloudy this is a quick fix option!
  2. Soaking - If the buildup is happening on your filter and you are unable to get it off with a hose, you will need to resort to soaking your filter. All you have to do is take your filter out and fill up a 5-gallon bucket with water and submerge your filter into the water. The last step is to add a product that helps grab those stubborn particles off of your filter. There are a ton of different filter cleaners out there but we recommend using an all natural kind. Our favorite kind is our product called Spa Marvel Filter Cleaner. This is an all natural product that is compatible with any chemical system!
      1. Spa Marvel Filter Cleaner. Remove odors and buildup that accumulate in the spa's filter that build up over time. This easy to use cleaner is powerful and removes oils, hair, dirt, and grime that is trapped in the filter causing unpleasant odors. Using this product on a regular basis will avoid odor problems in your cartridge filter without the use of bleach or harsh acids.

3) Replace - Replacing your filter once a year is recommended no matter how clean it may be. Having an old filter puts stress on your hot tub pump. Worn-out filters have a hard time trapping contaminates which leads to cloudy and nasty water!
